Free Fire is finally making it’s way back into India’s gaming spotlight after remaining in the dark for more than 3 years. Although fans are still waiting for the original title to return, Free Fire MAX has levelled up it’s game by introducing a \u20b91 crore prize pool for it’s Fire MAX India Cup (FFMIC 2025)<\/strong>. This wont be a regular esports event as it clearly shows that Garena is slowly returning to India and putting back Free Fire to where it belonged at the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in February 2022, the Indian government blocked the original Free Fire app due to data and privacy concerns as the game publisher, which is Garena, had links to China which made things even more hard. This news devastated all the Free Fire players overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garena took steps to resolve things and they partnered up with Yotta, an Indian dara service firm and their aim was to host local servers to ensure that India’s data is being stored locally. The FFMIC 2025<\/strong> is divided into four principal phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In-game Qualifiers (July 13)<\/strong>
Teams who registered through the in-game tab competed against each other, and the top 48 teams advanced to the next phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Online Qualifiers (July 26\u201328 and August 2\u20133)<\/strong>
Then these 48 teams were divided into 4 groups of 12, each playing 12 matches. Based on points, the top 18 teams would make it to the League Stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

League Stage (August 22 \u2013 September 14)<\/strong>
The 18 qualified teams will be joined by 6 specially invited teams. They\u2019ll compete over several days to determine who goes into the finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grand Finals (September 27\u201328)<\/strong>
Only 12 teams will reach this stage. The finale will be held as an offline LAN event, where the top team will be crowned the champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the core moves in Garena\u2019s comeback is localizing everything. This includes setting up dedicated data centers and cloud hosting in partnership with Yotta, based in Navi Mumbai. The aim?
